International broker United Insurance Brokers (UIB) has announced a brace of new appointments to bolster its aviation division.

Ken Coombes joins as aviation director and US wholesale specialist Chris Hamilton Cox becomes a divisional director.

Together industry veterans Coombes and Hamilton Cox add almost eight decades of experience to UIB.

Presently Coombes is a member of the London & International Insurance Brokers’ Association (LIIBA) executive committee, as well as chairing LIIBA’s Aviation Claims and Technical Committees.

Chief operating officer Philip Tuite Dalton has warmly welcomed Coombes’ appointment, describing him as a world class aviation authority.

Hamilton Cox has been praised by aviation MD David George, who has paid tribute to his wealth of experience, adding that his connections in the US broking market will prove useful for the firm.
