Brit Insurance appoint class underwriter

International general insurance and reinsurance firm Brit Insurance Holdings PLC has announced the appointment of Kevin Foley as class underwriter of International Property, part of the Global Markets business.

He leaves behind the post of Property Underwriting manager with German firm Munich Re to join Brit, and brings with him over a quarter of a century of experience in underwriting to the firm.

Earlier in his career he worked for Chiyoda and Eagle Star as property underwriter and assistant underwriter controller respectively.

Foley will be directly responsible to Jonathan Nunes-Carvalho, the Divisional Underwriting director, and assumes his post on 22 June.

In his new post Foley will be responsible for international direct and facultative property, excepting that in North America.

Matthew Wilson, Brit Global Markets chief executive officer, has expressed his delight at the appointment and praised Foley’s extensive experience in underwriting.
