Insurance broker and risk adviser Marsh has announced the appointment of Matt Kimber as the firm’s new UK chief risk officer.

Kimber leaves behind Lloyds Banking Group to join the firm, bringing with him experience of a number of executive operational and risk management posts he occupied whilst with Lloyds.

For six years he led Lloyd’s global approach to operational risk, but most recently served as Integration Risk chief for the recent merger with HBOS.

Earlier in his career he worked for Arthur Andersen as director of Risk.

Marsh UK’s chief executive officer, Martin South, has welcomed the appointment, praising Kimber’s track record and his extensive experience of risk.
