Specialist insurer Amlin has named Andrew Grant as the firm’s new group operations officer.

He has worked as a consultant regarding integration and restructuring for the last two years, and has worked for a number of clients including the Royal Bank of Scotland.

He joined UBS in 1997, leaving behind Andersen Consulting, (now Accenture).

In his new post Grant will be directly responsible to Amlin’s chief executive officer Charles Philipps, and gains responsibility for supervision of operational governance standards throughout the Group, this will entail a drive to achieve synergies between divisions where possible.

Philipps has welcomed Grant to Amlin and praised his strong experience in integrating and transforming financial institutions.
