Visitors to Jersey can now enjoy a new Travel Insurance Policy courtesy of Jersey Tourism.

Recently the insurance arrangements for UK holidaymakers changed, with visitors being required to pay for medical treatment should they fall ill or suffer an injury.

In response to this change of affairs the island’s tourism board has collaborated with the States Insurers, Rossboroughs, and specialist travel insurance company, PJ Hayman, to present a policy offering suitable coverage to visitors.

Jersey Tourism director David de Carteret explained that the organisation was concerned about the few insurance firms able to provide visitors to the Channel Islands with proper coverage following the change in healthcare arrangements.

This issue is compounded by the fact that many firms consider Jersey to be part of the United Kingdom.

Jersey Tourism’s policy is for a single trip, initially, and is available via http://www.jerseytravelinsurance.com/ and enables online screening for pre-existing conditions and is not subject to an upper age limit.
