Willis Group Holdings has announced the appointment of Mathias Pahl as chief executive officer of its German operations.

Pahl replaces Ralf Geck, who is retiring, and will report directly to the CEO of Willis Continental Europe, Adam Garrard.

Pahl has worked for Willis over the last six years, and has 14 years of experience in the insurance industry.

He has been promoted from his prior role with the firm of regional manager South for Willis Germany, and first began his career with Aon, where he held a number of different posts before moving to Willis.

Garrard has praised Pahl’s record with the firm, describing him as a dynamic leader with a history of driving forward growth.

He went on to say that he was thrilled and excited and Pahl’s appointment and looked forward to collaborating with him closely.
