Admiral chooses Thunderhead NOW to enhance communications

Motor insurer Admiral Group has chosen Thunderhead NOW to serve as its strategic multi-channel customer communications platform.

The selection has been made following a large scale review of the marketplace, and will see Thunderhead provide Admiral with the bespoke, multi-branded documents necessary to handle the multi-channel communications that Admiral’s numerous brands (Bell, Diamond, elephant.co.uk and Admiral) require.

Admiral Group’s IT director Steve Webster has stated that a new alternative was required after looking at the firm’s pre-existing arrangements and that Thunderhead NOW stood out from the crowd when it came to selecting an optimal solution.

Paul Stafford, marketing studio manager, added that the firm required an effective way of communicating with customers and that the solution would need to be both flexible and reliable.

Thunderhead NOW is an XML-based solution that is designed around the needs of businesses capable of delivering accurate and customised communications via any delivery channel, Thunderhead CEO Glen Manchester.

Manchester went on to state that the firm was seeing more interest from insurance companies as the sector aims to enhance efficiency and effectiveness whilst providing customers with a better service.

The news comes a day after German reinsurance firm Munich Re announced it was cutting its stake in Admiral by almost a third.

Raising over €100m, Munich Re reduced its stake from 15.1% to 10.22%, explaining the move as a bid to manage its equity portfolio risk.
