Brit Insurance Holdings PLC has announced the appointment of John King as portfolio director – short tail, a newly created post.
He brings with him 24 years of experience in the London market, and leaves behind Beazley Group to join Brit.
During his five years with Brit he held a number of posts, latterly as underwriter of the D&F Property team having previously been head of Small Business.
Before joining Beazley King spent 17 years with Marsh, occupying the post of North American and International Property broker for most of his time with the firm.
King takes up his new position from 5 May and will report directly to Matthew Wilson, Brit’s Global Markets chief executive officer.
As portfolio director, he will be tasked with managing the Global Markets Property, Marine and Accident & Health divisions, as well as the strategic development of the above divisions.
