Swinton to create 250 jobs in Norwich
Swinton is expanding its Norwich-based call centre, where it expects to create 250 jobs by the end of 2009.
The new posts will cover a variety of roles from outbound and internet sales advisors to team managers.
The move will bring the total headcount at the Norwich office to around 400 with both full and part-time jobs becoming available.
The broker is calling the recruitment drive a testament to its success, having reported a 4% rise in profit during 2008, to £50.1 million.
The result marked the firm’s eighth consecutive year of growth, during which premium income rose an annual 15%, to £763.9 million.
The news will be especially welcome in Norwich as earlier this month Aviva announced 480 job cuts at Norwich Union Life, also based in the city.
The redundancies form part of a total cull of 1,100 employees plus 560 contract positions over the coming months.
