Kwik Fit Insurance, the UK insurance intermediary, has been given the Gold Award by the Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives.

The award was won by Kwik Fit Insurance because of its status as one of the country’s safest and healthiest employers, and comes after a number of initiatives designed to enhance the health of the firm’s 900 employees.

It is given to firms that promote healthiness amongst its employees in a range of ways including involvement in the community, mental health and occupational health and safety.

Staff members at Kwik Fit Insurance are offered the opportunity to donate blood and enjoy regular health checks, in addition to healthy eating options.

The firm has also employed an environmental manager tasked with reducing its carbon footprint through using less paper, plastic and energy wastage.

Brendan Devine, MD, has expressed the firm’s delight at winning the award, adding how proud the firm was of becoming a healthier and safer place.
