Brit appoint Property Liability underwriter
International general insurance and reinsurance firm Brit Insurance Holdings PLC has announced the appointment of Neil McMillan as class underwriter in the Property Liability part of its Global Markets business.
McMillan will assume his new role on 17 April, and be directly responsible to Jonathan Nunes-Carvalho, the divisional underwriting director.
He brings to the role over a quarter of a century of experience in the London market, and joined Brit after a four year stint with Canopius Managing Agents.
With Canopius, McMillan worked as lead underwriter of the property and casualty business emanating from MGA.
Earlier in his career he spent five years as VP of Alea’s North American Facilities division.
Chief executive officer of Brit Global Markets Matthew Wilson has praised McMillan’s knowledge of the North American property and liability market and expressed his delight at having hired such an impressive underwriter.
