A FIIRM plan for hybrid professionals
In recent times there has been an increasing number of professionals in the insurance and risk management fields whose business dealings do not fall under the umbrella of a single trade body.
The Insurance Manager’s managing director, Danny Cooper, has stated that in the five years of trading the firm found its combination of risk management and insurance management one that was not immediately understood by people in the financial services sector.
The Insurance Manager offers services which transcend traditional dividing lines in the financial services sector.
Cooper has said that the Insurance Manager is issuing an invitation for other professionals to join in the creation of a Federation of Independent Insurance and Risk Managers (FIIRM).
FIIRM would aim to enhance the profile and lobbying power of the new wave of professionals, in addition to creating set standards and offering mutual support, described by Cooper as an “AIRMIC for the people”.
A website, www.fiirm.co.uk, has been set up with background information and suggested aims for FIIRM.
Responses are encouraged from those in the industry to help decide whether the new body is a viable proposition.
