Zurich announces raft of senior appointments
Zurich Financial Services Group has announced a number of personnel changes in the upper echelons of its management structure.
Inga Beale, head of Organizational Transformation and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), is to become global chief underwriting officer, effective from 1 June.
Beale will bring in-depth knowledge of Zurich’s businesses and operations to the post, as well as experience in underwriting and leadership.
She will retain her seat on the Group Management board and her leadership position with The Zurich Way.
Incumbent global chief underwriting officer Mike Kerner, who also holds the post of head of Group Strategy, is to vacate the role to assume the position of CEO of Global Corporate in North America, also effective from 1 June of this year.
The post has been filled on a temporary basis by the CEO of Global Corporate, Mario Vitale, since the turn of the year.
Concurrent with the above personnel changes Zurich is to reunify the Group Mergers & Acquisition and Group Strategy roles.
Christian Carl will join the firm to take on the newly combined leadership post, leaving behind Goldman Sachs where he has led the Financial Institutions Group for several years.
