Glacier Insurance opens Zurich office
European insurer Glacier Insurance has announced that it is to open a new underwriting office in Zurich.
In addition to providing an office for Glacier Insurance’s underwriting operations the new accommodation will also provide space for Glacier Re’s marketing presence to take root in the city.
The chief executive officer of Glacier Insurance, Richard Etridge, is to lead the firm’s Zurich presence.
Etridge, who was one of the firm’s founders, has been instrumental in Glacier’s progression and pivotal in the formation of Glacier Insurance three years ago.
From 2008 to 2007 the firm’s gross written premiums exploded by 298%, and writes its business from its Liechtenstein headquarters in Schaan as well as branches in Cologne and London.
The firm moved to its new London branch in November of last year, having first established its presence in the city in March of 2008.
Glacier Group’s chief executive officer and former CEO of Glacier Insurance Robbie Klaus has stated that the new Zurich office will offer customers of Glacier Insurance better service and support, as well as easier access to the firm.
