Liberty International Underwriters Europe (LIU Europe) has created a new team dedicated to covering Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs).

The team, which falls beneath the umbrella of the firm’s professional indemnity operations, is to be led by assistant VP Paul Freeman who joined the firm in early March.

Sam Goodier and Alex Jones, underwriter and underwriting assistant respectively, will support Freeman along with consultant IFA expert Glyn Morris.

Alan Telford, head of Professional Indemnity Europe, will be the person the IFA team is directly responsible to, with its business initially being written out of London for clients within the UK.

Telford has stated that the present economic turmoil has made operating conditions particularly difficult for independent financial advisers.

Because of this LIU Europe is expanding its presence in the professional indemnity field with its new IFA team.
