The National Farmers Union Mutual Insurance Society (NFU Mutual) has selected Guidewire BillingCenter as its new billing system.

According to the agricultural insurer, the move should streamline its premium billing and collection processes.

Guidewire provides a web-based single-system solution that can offer real-time visibility into its billing transactions and operations.

It should therefore reduce costs by getting rid of manual processes and at the same time simplify the management of agents’ commissions.

According to NFU Mutual’s technical finance manager, Nigel Bryan, “The company’s customers are served by a network of over 300 agents who … will have direct access into BillingCenter, streamlining the payment collection process, reducing manual activities, and significantly simplifying premium reconciliation.”

Last year, NFU Mutual scooped the Customer Care Award at the British Insurance Awards.

The firm, which has over 870,000 customers (420,000 of whom are farming), recently expanded its network with the establishment of a new office in Llandudno.
