AXA home insurance available on Acturis

AXA has announced that now Acturis users will be able to benefit from access to its range of core household insurance products.

Acturis users will have access to ABC, ABC Lite and Extra, and to make it easier and quicker for brokers to handle their household insurance business all the products will be hosted as Full cycle EDI.

For a typical homeowner there is the ABC policy, designed to be a standard buildings and contents policy.

ABC Lite has the same comprehensive package as ABC, but lacks certain extra elements including Family Legal Protection and Home Assistance.

Extra offers additional features and covers valuables up to £20,000 and a single article limit of £10,000. It is rated per bedroom.

AXA’s Personal Lines Intermediary general manager, Mike Keating, has stated that this year house insurance is a key area for AXA, adding that by hosting them on Acturis the product range is easy to access for brokers.

Home insurance may be even more important than previously, given the present economic climate.

Home Secretary Jacqui Smith has stated that the recession may drive up rates of crimes such as burglary, and today the Telegraph has reported that rural robbery has soared by nearly 20%.

Although going for less comprehensive insurance options or cutting back altogether will save money immediately, there is a rising risk that doing so will leave a homeowner severely out of pocket should they be unfortunate enough to be a burglary victim.
