European insurer and reinsurer Glacier Group has announced the appointment of Dirk Turley to the post of chief strategic officer (CSO).

He brings with him over two decades of experience, and has also worked for GE Frankona prior to becoming a founding member of Glacier.

As CSO of the Group, Turley will report directly to Group chief executive officer Robbie Klaus.

Turley leaves behind his role as chief underwriting officer with Glacier Re, and in his new role will focus upon establishing the firm’s strategic position and its business development, as well as management of the Group’s underwriting operations.

An area of special attention for Turley will be the introduction of new products and new business lines.

The firm has also announced that it is to undergo a restructuring, following its continued growth and in order to seize the opportunities presented by good underwriting conditions.
