Fortis Insurance has secured a five-year partnership agreement with UK Underwriting (UKU), which specialises in tailored insurance products for scheme businesses.

The company is replacing Axa as majority capacity provider for UKU in a deal worth in excess of £50 million gross written premiums annually.

According to UKU, the appointment forms part of a wider strategic review of the company’s capacity requirements and its plans to build its presence within its core markets.

Fortis Insurance chief executive, Barry Smith, has expressed his delight at the new partnership and says it will build on the strength of the company’s existing relationship with UKU.

It will also further widen Fortis’s distribution channels and enhance its product offering.

UKU’s client include Lloyds Banking Group, Inchcape, HSBC, John Lewis, Ryanair and Royal Bank of Scotland.
