Bupa makes media appointments to promote expatriate brand

Bupa International, which specialises in expatriates insurance, has appointed two new advertising agencies to assist in its global expansion plans.

FBH Incite has picked up the online creative brief and MediaVest will handle the company’s online advertising strategy.

Both companies will work alongside Bupa International’s offline agency, Total Media.

London-based MediaVest will focus on promoting the benefits of the insurer’s international medical insurance and emergency repatriation cover and FBH will develop a series of advertisements to raise awareness of the company’s range of products and services for individuals and businesses.

According to Bupa International’s commercial director, David Grint, the expatriate market has seen strong growth in the last two of years as more people live and work outside their home country.

He believes that online communication is a key area for his firm, which has around 800,000 customers in more than 190 countries, as expatriates increasingly rely on the internet for health information.

The insurer has also recently appointed Fiona McAnena as group brand director.

Ms McAnena joined from PepsiCo, where she held the post of vice-president, innovation.
