Helphire to cut 130 UK jobs
Accident management firm Helphire Group plc has announced plans to cut 130 jobs due to ‘challenging market conditions’.
The news follows the publication of a cost-cutting strategy by the company in December which announced plans to reduce operating costs by £5 million.
The Bath-based company employs over 3,000 people in its national network of 31 branches. It said most of the axed jobs will be in south west England.
Mark Adams, chief executive, said: “Market conditions continue to be challenging but our focus remains on the delivery of our previously announced efficiency and cost reduction programme.
“Having undergone a thorough review of our cost base, we must ensure that every area of the group performs effectively to create value for our stakeholders and we are seeking to make a limited number of redundancies across several of our group’s companies.”
The redundancies will be made within the next three months.
