LV=’s Broker Division is expanding in Scotland with the opening of a new office in the financial district of Glasgow.

The mutual says much of its Scottish insurance business is with companies based in the city and the move will enable it to provide a first class service to local brokers.

The new team is headed by Jim Rennie who has been appointed branch manager.

Mr Rennie has 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry, having worked in both sales and management roles at AXA and Independent Insurance.

He also held the post of branch manager for Zurich’s broker business in Scotland.

Other members of staff include Margaret Alexander, who has been recruited as senior underwriter and underwriter, Alison McDowell.

Alan Blair, who has 20 years’ experience of the local market, has been appointed as regional sales executive and Sandra Inglis, who joined LV= when it acquired Highway last year, will be based at the new Glasgow office, carrying out her role as regional account manager for Highway.

LV=’s Broker Division is expanding rapidly. Earlier this month it opened a new office in Birmingham, servicing brokers in the East and West Midlands.

The division specialises in commercial business but also sells a range of personal lines products.

Other branches are located in Leeds, Croydon, Sheffield, Bristol, Bournemouth, Manchester and Maidstone.
