Chubb Group has pledged to help businesses stay green with a new move in its insurance policy approach.

Peter Thompson, worldwide energy manager for Chubb Commercial Insurance, has stated that businesses with commercial property insurance policy from the firm can enjoy having their green investments automatically protected even if there is a loss.

For the last 14 years the firm’s commercial property insurance policies have operated on a replacement-cost basis for green features.

These features include wind turbines, groundwater collection systems, solar and geothermal power systems and vegetative roofs.

Thompson has also stated that across the world, government action is enhancing the green building market.

Chubb’s policies also provide business income and extra expense insurance, enabling green firms to swiftly return to operations after a loss.
