EU aims to promote construction innovation and sustainability
The European Commission has its eye on encouraging sustainability and innovative methods in the construction industry, and has recently launched a study to this effect.
The study will assess the national liability and insurance systems that pertain to the construction industry in each of the twenty-seven member nations.
In addition to this, the effect that present regimes have upon the construction marketplace and related services will be analysed.
The European Commission has set up the study to identify the optimal schemes and good practices presently implemented and to suggest new ideas that encourage innovation and sustainable development.
The necessary feasibility study will be conducted by Centre d’Etudes d’Assurances (CEA) and Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment (CSTB).
CSTB is a state-owned French research centre that specialises in quality, innovation and sustainable development in construction.
CEA has offices across Europe and is a specialist in construction law and in construction insurance.
