Bollington begins drive for wholesale expansion
Commercial broker Bollington has begun an ambitious program to increase its wholesale arm by 50% during the course of the next year.
The plan is part of the firm’s strategic goal to become the UK’s biggest niche and affinity intermediary.
On 1 January 2009 recently acquired wholesale and scheme specialist FM Green will be rebranded Bollington Wholesale.
Compucar was acquired during January of this year, and will also undergo changes, shifting from its primary focus of motor to providing wholesale access for the firm’s non-motor product range.
Going under the umbrella name of Compuquote, subdivisions (such as Compucare) will be formed, each with the ‘Compu’ prefix.
To bolster the firm’s ambitious growth plans it has hired extra staff, including business development manager Stephen Bottoms.
Bottoms is responsible for account growth in both the Bollington Wholesale and Compuquote brands. He joins Bollington from Aon, and brings with him two decades of industry experience.
Chris Patterson will supervise the changes being made, following his appointment as managing director of wholesale operations.
