Specialist insurer Ecclesiastical has teamed up with risk analytics experts Sciemus in order to create the next generation of risk assessment and underwriting management toolkit.

Property assessment toolkit ePAT utilises cutting edge technology and the latest mathematical modelling techniques in order to meet the broad spectrum of underwriting needs present in a property portfolio.

The new toolkit takes advantage of UK weather and event models, hi-res terrain information for top grade local damage estimates and to enable better underwriting, flood modelling, and the Detailed River Network flood maps from the Environment Agency.

Richard Wyatt said, property underwriting manager, explained that detailed modelling and mapping techniques are of significant benefit in providing precise information regarding insured properties.

With the new modelling techniques of the ePat toolkit, flood modelling is now available, which could be of crucial benefit given the dreadful flooding events of the last few years.

Wyatt went on to say that superior modelling would provide companies that use it with a real competitive edge as well as bolstering customer service.

The ePat toolkit will be rolled out early next year, to selected Ecclesiastical staff.
