Marshall Wooldridge has acquired HNH Insurance Brokers, an independent general insurance brokerage established in 1984 and formerly a member of Broker Network

Both HNH and its new owner are based in Leeds and the former will continue to trade from its current premises in the Garforth area of the city.

Details of the transaction have not been disclosed but the move has increased Marshall Wooldridge’s premium income by £4.5 million, to £22 million, while staff numbers have risen to 70.

Marshall Wooldridge is best known for its role as insurance broker to the England and Wales Cricket Board, whereby it insures 3,500 grass roots clubs.

The business is worth around £1.6 million a year in premium income.

The firm’s client base also spans the industrial, commercial and professional sectors, plus private customers.

The broker, which recently gained chartered status, has no immediate plans to make further acquisitions and says it will be focused on integrating HNH in the months ahead.
