Zurich tops satisfaction index for car and home insurance
Zurich has taken the lead in a new customer satisfaction survey introduced by CFI Group.
The US-based company has launched its first UK National Customer Satisfaction Index (NCSI-UK) for home and car insurance providers.
Zurich achieved a score of 79 on a 100 point scale, slightly above the average satisfaction level of 77.
Other notable performers were RBS’s Churchill / NIG at 78.
Norwich Union scored a mere 69, eight points below the industry average.
The research involved questioning 1,454 consumers on their experience of their current motor or home insurance provider.
CFI’s chief executive, Sheri Teodoru, comments that competition amongst UK car and home insurers is intense for new customers but price alone will not win the hearts and minds of consumers.
Her view is borne out by the NCSI-UK research, which found that 67% of customers had remained with the same provider for over a year, suggesting that reliability, trust and customer service play a major part in client retention.
