Giles Insurance Brokers has increased its presence in Wales with the acquisition of NG Insurance.
The Penarth-based broker, which began trading in 2002 specialises in commercial, financial risk protection and personal insurance.
Giles entered the Welsh market when it bought Hedges & Rose, based in Tonyrefail, late last year.
The group went on to acquire DS Howell, AGM Insurance, Paul Murphy Insurance Services and Hancock General Insurance.
This latest acquisition is Giles’ sixth in Wales in the past 12 months and the group’s chief executive, Chris Giles, says he has further ambitions in the region.
The company employs around 80 staff in South Wales and numbers are expected to rise as plans to expand a regional claims department at Talbot Green progress.
Last week, Giles completed its acquisition of Watford-based independent insurance intermediary, Dickson Insurance Brokers.
The group employs over 900 staff and places in excess of £300 million premium annually. It also now operates a team placing clients’ business directly with Lloyds of London.
