Zurich appoints Global Life underwriting chief

Philip Wilson has been named by Zurich Financial Services Group as the new chief underwriting officer of Global Life, effective from today.

He joins Zurich from global insurer AIG, where he held the post of chief underwriting officer of Accident & Health for AIU.

During his six years with AIG he worked in New York and Hong Kong, and earlier in his career worked for AVIVA and AMP Australia in executive positions.

Wilson will assume responsibility for Global Life’s strategic approach to underwriting, in addition to standards and processes for Life and Health across the world.

In his newly created post, Wilson will report directly to Global Life chief executive officer Mario Greco.
