Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. yesterday reported the acquisition of Oxygen Insurance Managers (OIM) Ltd.

Gallagher acquired the London-based underwriting agency from its parent company, Oxygen Holdings for an undisclosed sum.

OIM is a specialist in international classes of insurance such as property, extended warranty, liability, accident, and travel.

Authorised by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), it represents a number of international insurance companies and Lloyd’s Syndicates, either directly or through a local intermediary.

Manager Sian Fisher will keep her current team of staff, and will continue to operate out of the company’s Fenchurch Street office. She will work under the direction of David Ross, CEO of Arthur J. Gallagher UK.

Patrick Gallagher, president, chairman and CEO of Arthur J. Gallagher, said OIM’s experience and expertise will be a ‘strong complement’ to the firms other London-based operations.

Illinois-based Arthur J. Gallagher offers insurance brokerage and risk management services in over 100 countries around the world.

It trades on the New York stock exchange as AJG.
