Erick Gustafson has been appointed by Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. (MMC) as the firm’s new director of Government Relations.

He leaves behind the post of senior VP of Legislative and Political Affairs at Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) to join MMC.

Gustafson, whose role is effective from 29 September, will report directly to Peter J. Beshar, executive VP and General Counsel.

In his new role he will be tasked with developing and enacting MMC’s government relations agenda, and collaborating with senior management on a wide range of issues.

President and CEO Brian Duperreault has expressed his delight at having brought Gustafson to the firm.

Gustafson himself has stated he is honoured to join MMC, describing it as an exceptional opportunity.
