PowerPlace Insurance Services Ltd, has announced the appointment of Nick Giddings as director.

PowerPlace operates using Open GI’s Open Trader technology to distribute PowerPlace products.

Open Trader enables commercial business to be traded electronically, and offers provision for full back-office integration with brokers’ Open GI systems.

Giddings leaves behind his role as head of Countrywide to join PowerPlace, and in his new position gains responsibility for fostering relationships and developing products with insurers, as well as encouraging software usage amongst brokers.

PowerPlace offers support for a range of product lines and insurance providers, with selected products comparable by price from a panel of insurers.

Brokers utilising PowerPlace also receive good commission levels and rates.

The system operates by connecting to the broker’s system via the internet, and generates immediate comparative quotes and Point of Sale documentation.

Giddings has stated that the whole process has been designed to be as easy as possible for the broker, with operational efficiencies provided by back-office integration and the system’s electronic nature.
