Aon Re Global is establishing its first reinsurance unit within Poland.

The new unit, named Aon Re Polska, will occupy its Warsaw premises on 4 September and will be part of Aon Re CEE (Central and Eastern Europe).

A team, initially three-strong, will be tasked with enhancing the firm’s presence in Poland, which has been described as a particular growth area by Richard Postgate, chief executive officer of Aon Re EMEA.

By launching its own reinsurance unit in the country, Postgate is looking to grow customer relations and make a clear commitment to the important Polish market.

Ewa Sikorska will lead the Aon Re Polska office, bringing two decades of experience to the position.

In addition, Sikorska previously held responsibility for the country under the broader umbrella of Aon Re CEE.

She will be supported by Tomasz Wolski, who moves from Warta to Aon Re Polska, and Magdalena Jakubowska.
