UK insurance comparison site Confused.com has added 1stQuote home insurance to the list of insurers it compares.

1stQuote is the trading name of Hero Insurance Services Limited.

Confused.com has recently welcomed a number of big name insurers to its comparison panel, including Tesco, Churchill and Privilege.

According to Confused.com’s commercial director Peter Ablett, the site offers the internet’s ‘most comprehensive range of insurance providers’ from which customers are able to compare prices.

Ablett added that deals with more insurance companies are ‘in the pipeline’ which he hopes will further improve the site’s reputation as the UK’s leading price comparison service.

However, consumer rights group Which? advises those looking for insurance to check prices on different price comparison sites.

A recent survey by Which? Money found discrepancies between the lowest prices on different price comparison sites, and that the effectiveness of each site differed with the type of insurance that they searched for.

In some cases Which? found inflated prices on comparison websites where consumers could get a better deal going directly to the provider concerned.
