Legal & General Property (LGP) has appointed Paul Edwards to the LGP board as director.

In his new role, Edwards will be charged with analysing LGP’s investment opportunities in the European industry, as well as supervising the corporate governance framework of unlisted property fund structures, both in its present form and going forward into the future.

He will be responsible to LGP’s managing director, Bill Hughes.

Edwards will retain his responsibility for managing the Industrial Property Investment Fund, which over the last decade, has seen its assets skyrocket from under £100m in 1998 to £975m today.

His promotion follows on from Andy Banks, who was named as finance director a few weeks ago.

Hughes has welcomed Edwards’ appointment, praising his 18 year record at the firm and his excellent performance managing the Industrial Property Investment Fund.
