European reinsurance firm Glacier Reinsurance AG has named its new specialty treaty underwriter as Doris Pöpplein.

She brings ten years of experience in the reinsurance sector, and leaves behind ACE where she has worked for the last three years to join Glacier Re.

Whilst at ACE Pöpplein was part of the Outwards Reinsurance department, and prior to this served as GE Frankona’s aviation treaty underwriter in Munich.

In her new role Pöpplein’s primary focus will be the spheres of aviation, war and terrorism, and space reinsurance.

She will be based in Pfäffikon, Switzerland, and will assume her position on 1 August of this year.
