DAS launches online claims tracking service

Legal expenses firm, DAS, has launched an online claims tracking service.

Using eClaims, brokers can now view claims online, keeping track of the process.

The system is being rolled out in stages and secure logins will eventually be extended to all claimants, although initially only new claimants will be able to use the service.

In related news, DAS has expressed its satisfaction with the Ministry of Justice’s (MoJ) proposed reforms of the personal injury claims process.

The firm’s head of underwriting, Mike Timmons, describes the MoJ’s response to the consultation with the insurance sector as very sensible and balanced.

He is particularly pleased that there will be no change to the small claims limits and that After the Event premiums will continue to be recoverable from the outset.

The response is in stark contrast to that of the Association of British Insurers, which has described the proposals as not radical enough and likely to leave many claimants stuck in a slow, complex and expensive system, that denies them speedy compensation and care.
