Groupama Insurances has announced the appointment of Phil Bird as the firm’s new claims director.

He is presently underwriting director responsible for Non-motor and SME, and assumes his new post on 1st October.

Bird will lead a team of over 250, and will report directly to Laurent Matras, managing director.

He will be based in the firm’s headquarters in the City of London, and will be responsible for technical integrity and operational effectiveness for UK claims operations.

In addition, Bird will take line control of the organisation’s three claims centres, in addition to the claims team at head office.
