Tim Hofmeister has been named by Glacier Insurance AG as the new managing director for Germany.

He replaces Lothar Riedle, who has parted ways with the company.

Hofmeister has been with Glacier for the last three years, joining as a senior underwriter in early 2005.

Assuming his Cologne-based post, he will report directly to Robbie Klaus, the chairman and chief executive officer of Glacier Insurance.

Hofmeister will be responsible for furthering the growth and development of the firm’s German business, and is charged with leadership of the Cologne team, which writes for Property, Casualty and Specialty Lines.

The specific target of more than doubling the number of employees in Germany within a year has been issued to him.
