Transatlantic Holdings’ chairman resigns

The chairman of Transatlantic Holdings, Inc., Martin J. Sullivan, has resigned from the board.

Consequently, the board has temporarily elected Robert F. Orlich, presently chief executive officer and president, to serve as chairman on a short-term basis.

Elsewhere, Richard S. Press continues in his role as lead independent director of the firm.

Orlich paid tribute to Sullivan’s time at Transatlantic, praising his leadership, contribution and service to the firm.

He went on to wish Sullivan well for the future, and all the best in his new endeavours.
