Brown & Brown, a US-based provider of insurance and reinsurance, has reported acquiring the assets of Alpha Benefits Group through a company subsidiary.

Pennsylvania-based Alpha Benefits Group provides individual and group employee benefits insurance. Its annual revenues are around $5 million.

Alpha Benefits will continue operating in its Pennsylvania offices as a freestanding independent branch of Brown & Brown.

This announcement marks the third acquisition for Brown & Brown within a week. On Monday the group revealed that they had acquired Connecticut-based Dill Joyce & Thresher, and on Tuesday announced the acquisition of Florida-based HBA Insurance Group.

The acquisitions add to Brown & Brown’s already extensive portfolio, who in addition to insurance services, already provide managed health care, third-party administration, and Medicare services and programmes.

Regional president of Brown & Brown, Thomas Riley, said that the acquisition will bring his company “even more new opportunities and experience.”
