Willis Group Holdings has announced that Renato Cassinelli has been appointed to the post of employee benefits practice leader for Latin America.

He joined the firm two years ago as vice president and operations director of Multinational Benefits & International Healthcare.

Earlier in his career, he served with Old Mutual Financial Network and AIG.

Cassinelli, who assumes the role immediately, will be responsible for improving the regional employee benefits by bolstering Willis’ profitable growth in its Latin America business.

He is to report directly to Chris Burns and Eugenio Paschoa, global employee benefits practice leader and chief executive officer of Latin America respectively.

Cassinelli’s in-depth knowledge of the Latin American marketplace makes him ideally suited for the position, according to Burns.

Paschoal has also expressed his confidence in Cassinelli’s ability to do well in his new job.
