The Chubb Corporation’s chief operating officer and vice chairman, Thomas Motamed, is to retire from the firm on 6 June.

Just over a year later he will assume the roles of CEO and chairman of CNA Financial Corporation.

It is over three decades since Motamed first started working for Chubb.

Working his way up through the ranks, he was appointed to his present position at the end of 2002.

Motamed has expressed his gratitude to the firm, and explained that the opportunity to become CNA’s chief executive officer was too good an offer to refuse.

Chubb’s chairman, CEO and president, John Finnegan, has thanked Motamed for his contribution to the firm, and wished him well for the future.
