Abbey and the IFS School of Finance have agreed a unique deal to train and accredit the entirety of Abbey’s underwriting staff.

Workplace activities and e-learning will be involved in the qualifications, as will face-to-face courses and assessments.

Abbey’s underwriters will have two possible options to choose between.

The first is the Certificate level qualification from the IFS School of Finance combined with the Certificate in Underwriting from the Abbey Risk School, which is the Customer Services Professional qualification.

The second, which will be preferred by those underwriters seeking to acquire senior positions, is the Diploma in Underwriting from the Abbey Risk School coupled with the IFS Applied Diploma in Corporate Banking.

Abbey’s commitment to its staff will reap benefits not just for the individuals trained, but also for the firm as a whole according to David Fields, the School of Finance’s Relations Management chief.
