New German CEO for Aon

Aon Re Global’s German reinsurance broker, Aon Ruck, is to have a new chief executive officer and chairman.

Jan-Oliver Thofern will assume the roles on 1 July of this year, with the former CEO and chairman, Holger Gaserow, retiring towards the end of 2008.

Gaserow has spent four decades with broker firm Jauch & Hubener, and was first appointed to the board 19 years ago.

After the firm was taken over by Aon, he became chairman of Aon Ruck Hamburg, and is a member of the Aon Re Global board.

Thofern first joined Aon 15 years ago, beginning his career with Jauch & Hubener prior to moving to Aon Ruck.

It is three years since he joined the management board, and two since he became a member of the executive committee.

Michael D. O’Halleran, Aon Re Global’s executive chairman, has wished Gaserow all the best for the future.
