Brit Insurance Holdings PLC has announced the appointment of Jennifer Martin to the post of divisional underwriting director of the International Legal and Professional Risks Division.

Martin brings to her new role two decades of industry experience, and has been with Brit since 2000.

In addition, the firm has also appointed Janet Henderson as divisional underwriting director of the North American Liability Division.

Henderson joined the firm five years ago, and in 2006 became North American Professional Liability chief.

The two posts of divisional underwriting director have been newly created, and Martin and Henderson will occupy them immediately and report directly to Matthew Wilson, chief executive officer of Brit Global Markets.

Wilson has welcomed their appointments, and described the two new directors as key contributors to Brit’s recent success.
