Today Willis Group Holdings announced that Jeffrey B. Lane is to become a member of the compensation committee, and is to assume a place on the board of directors.

Lane has been involved in the insurance industry for over four decades and is chairman and CEO of Bear Stearns Asset Management.

Earlier in his career, he held the post of vice chairman at Lehman Brothers Asset Management and Alternatives Division, and has been vice chairman of the Smith Barney division of Travelers Group.

Willis’ chairman and chief executive officer, Joe Plumeri, has expressed his delight at Lane’s membership of the board and has praised his career and extensive experience.
