Dorien Smithson has been named as the new executive vice president of Willis Americas.

In her new post, Smithson will be responsible for leadership of the North American Claim and Risk Control Practice, in addition to the pre and post loss services available to Willis clients.

She leaves behind ESIS Inc., where she served as senior vice president of national sales and marketing as well as holding the post of construction practice executive.

Smithson has also held executive positions with Liberty Mutual, and brings with her almost three decades of experience.

Don Bailey, the chief executive officer of Willis North America, has welcomed her appointment.
