James Skinner has been appointed by Talbot Underwriting as head of marine underwriting, as well as being the active underwriter of Syndicate 1183.
Other appointments have been announced, including Mark Johnson who has been named as underwriting risk officer, with responsibility for underwriting risk management in the Talbot group, monitoring and reporting on underwriting performance and ensuring compliance with Lloyd’s Minimum Underwriting Standards.
Johnson will retain his involvement in the firm’s Financial Institutions account.
Stephen Barr has been appointed to the position of underwriting operations officer, though he will keep his present role of head of marine & energy liability underwriting.
Other appointments include Steve Lloyd as head of property and specialty underwriting, Russell Bean to the position of head of financial institutions underwriting and John Cutts as head of treaty underwriting.
Rupert Atkin, the firm’s chief executive, expressed his pleasure at the numerous appointments which would, he said, form a strong management structure for Syndicate 1183.
